Microsoft Unveils Always-On AI Agent Scout to Integrate With Teams, Outlook, and More

Microsoft announced Scout, its first always-on Autopilot AI agent for Microsoft 365, which integrates across Teams, Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint and underlying data layers to perform autonomous tasks such as scheduling, surfacing risks, and preparing materials. The announcement emphasizes enterprise-grade security and compliance features — per-instance Entra identities, task-scoped credential handling, real-time Purview/DLP enforcement, and human approval for sensitive actions — and notes private preview availability through the Frontier program.
