AI Chat App Exposes 300 Million Messages from 25 Million Users

A popular mobile app called “Chat & Ask AI” left its Google Firebase backend misconfigured, allowing unauthorized access to an estimated 300 million messages from more than 25 million users. The exposed records included full conversation histories, timestamps, custom companion names, model types, and sensitive user queries (including instructions for illegal activity and suicide-related content), highlighting significant privacy and safety risks for users of third-party AI wrapper apps.
