NCSC Warns of Hacktivist Groups Attacking UK Organisations and Online Services

A January 2026 NCSC advisory warns that Russian-aligned hacktivist groups are conducting persistent DDoS attacks against UK local government and critical infrastructure, aiming to disrupt public services and public-facing websites; while technically unsophisticated, these attacks can cause significant operational impact and recovery costs.
