Discord has enabled default end-to-end encryption (E2EE) for voice and video communications across direct messages, group calls, voice channels, and Go Live streams using the open-source DAVE protocol. The rollout—now mandatory—includes cross-platform support (desktop, mobile, web, PlayStation, Xbox), an external audit, an expanded bug bounty program, and removal of legacy unencrypted fallbacks; Stage Channels and text messaging remain excluded.
