Microsoft Unveils a New Tool to Migrate from Slack to Microsoft Teams

Microsoft introduced a native Slack-to-Teams migration feature in the Microsoft 365 admin center that lets administrators upload Slack export data to Azure Blob Storage via SAS URLs, map users and channels, and preserve messages, threads, reactions, and attachments. The tool, which appears by default under Migration and imports, enters public preview in December 2025 with general availability by early March 2026, requires appropriate admin consent, keeps data in customer-controlled Azure storage during import, and aims to reduce reliance on third-party tools while expanding support beyond channels in future updates.
