Authorities Disrupt IoT Botnet Infrastructure Behind Record-Breaking 30 Tbps DDoS Attacks

Law enforcement agencies from the U.S., Canada, and Germany, supported by major security and cloud providers, dismantled four large IoT botnets (Aisuru, KimWolf, JackSkid, Mossad) that collectively infected over three million devices and enabled volumetric and application-layer DDoS campaigns—peaking at an unprecedented 30 Tbps—and were monetized as a cybercrime-as-a-service platform targeting global servers and critical infrastructure including DoDIN; seizures of domains, virtual servers, and arrests disrupted the C2 infrastructure and limited further attacks.
