Spotify Music Library With 86M Music Files Scraped by Hacktivist Group

Anna’s Archive publicly released a torrent containing approximately 86 million audio tracks and metadata for 256 million songs scraped from Spotify (about 300 TB). The group says it scraped Spotify at scale to create an open “preservation archive,” prioritized files by popularity to save space, and is asking the public to seed the torrents; the release constitutes large-scale unauthorized distribution of copyrighted material and violates Spotify’s terms of service.
