University of Sydney Hacked – Students and Staff Data Exposed

The University of Sydney disclosed a data breach affecting more than 27,000 current and former staff, students, and alumni after attackers gained unauthorized access to an online code library and downloaded historical files containing names, dates of birth, phone numbers, home addresses, job titles, and employment dates; the intrusion was detected and blocked, an investigation and notifications to authorities are underway, and the university is contacting affected individuals and offering support and monitoring.
