Citrix Unveils NetScaler MCP Gateway With Centralized Security for AI Agents

Citrix announced new NetScaler capabilities — the NetScaler MCP Gateway and enhancements to the NetScaler AI Gateway — to centralize security, policy, and observability for AI agents using the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Key features include dynamic routing to authorized MCP servers, per-user and global authentication tokens, OAuth/hybrid flows, tool-based rate limits, allow/block lists, session persistence, protocol-aware health monitoring, content-based model routing, and token-level usage tracking; these controls aim to reduce unmanaged endpoints, inconsistent authentication, and limited visibility as organizations scale agentic AI deployments.
