Stop Hardcoding Passwords

This article presents CyberArk’s Central Credential Provider (CCP) as a secure, centralized mechanism for just-in-time credential retrieval via encrypted APIs, removing hardcoded secrets and enabling policy-based access, rotation, and auditing. It outlines how CCP authenticates applications (AppID/cert/token), enforces authorization against Vault policies, delivers credentials in real time without local storage, and logs all access, and it illustrates a deployment and a Tenable Nessus use case where scanners dynamically pull credentials to support authenticated scans with stronger security and compliance.
