Google brings better bricking to Androids, to curtail crims

Google is globally rolling out new Android anti-theft protections, including Theft Detection Lock (auto-locks when unusual high-speed movement is detected), Offline Device Lock (auto-locks after prolonged offline periods), and Remote Lock (allows locking via phone number without login credentials). Additional security measures expected with Android 15 will require credentials for factory reset and biometrics for changing sensitive settings or disabling Find My Device, aiming to curb phone theft resale and prevent access to high-value apps like banking and crypto wallets.
