Report: Tech misconceptions plague the IT world

A Kaspersky-commissioned global survey of 10,000 consumers (including 1,000 in the UK) reveals persistent cybersecurity misconceptions among 18–40-year-olds, such as misplaced trust in social media quizzes, overconfidence in browser incognito mode and encrypted messaging links, and beliefs that iOS is hack-proof or magnets can erase smartphones. While many take steps like covering webcams, respondents also express valid concerns about data collection by modern cars. The report concludes that stronger, evidence-based cybersecurity education is needed to combat myths and improve digital hygiene.
