Security pros are drowning in threat-intel data and it's making everything more dangerous

A Forrester Consulting survey commissioned by Google Cloud of 1,541 security/IT leaders across eight countries finds most organizations overwhelmed by threat intelligence volume, short on skilled analysts, and therefore largely reactive; manufacturing shows the highest concern, aligning with FBI IC3 ransomware impact, while leaders cite phishing/credential theft, ransomware/extortion, AI prompt injection, quantum risks, and supply chain threats among top worries. The study advises reframing threat intelligence as a capability—emphasizing analysis, enrichment, context, and business-specific intelligence requirements—rather than accumulating more feeds and tools.
