The US Department of Justice, in coordination with German and Canadian authorities, disrupted the command-and-control infrastructure for four major IoT botnets (Aisuru, KimWolf, JackSkid, and Mossad) that compromised over three million devices and were capable of generating DDoS traffic peaks up to ~31.4 Tbps; operators monetized access via DDoS-for-hire and extortion, and although domains and backend systems were seized, many insecure devices remain infected and susceptible to future recruitment.
