Interpol cybercrime crackdown leads to 94 arrests, 45,000 IP takedowns

Interpol's Operation Synergia III (18 July 2025–31 January 2026) was a global counter-cybercrime campaign involving 72 countries and private-sector partners that resulted in 94 arrests, 212 devices seized, and more than 45,000 malicious IP addresses sinkholed; the operation focused on phishing, romance and loan scams, credit card fraud, identity theft, and fake gambling sites, with major enforcement actions in Bangladesh, Togo, and extensive IP takedowns led by Macau.
