European Commission probes intrusion into staff mobile management backend

CERT-EU detected a breach of the European Commission's centrally managed mobile device management systems on January 30; the incident may have exposed staff names and mobile numbers. The Commission said the affected MDM environment was contained and cleaned within nine hours and that no mobile devices were found compromised, while investigators continue to assess the breach method, scope, and responsible parties.
