Novo Nordisk reports cyberattack as UK gives Wegovy pill the nod

Novo Nordisk disclosed a cyberattack that resulted in theft of pseudonymized clinical trial participant data (patient IDs, trial participation, gender, year of birth, biomarkers, health/immunogenicity data, and lifestyle factors) and may have exposed healthcare partner contact details (names, registration numbers, emails, phone/WhatsApp, office locations). The company says exposed patient records were pseudonymized and not directly identifiable, some internal IT systems were taken offline as a precaution, external investigators have been engaged, and the primary risk is targeted phishing or fraudulent communications rather than immediate identity theft or operational disruption.
