ShinyHunters adds Charter to trophy shelf after 4.9M customer records leak

ShinyHunters claims to have published the personal details of roughly 4.9 million Charter Communications customers (names, emails, phone numbers, and physical addresses), and previously threatened to leak over 42 million records; a smaller subset of ~85,000 records included staff job titles. Charter confirmed an investigation while disputing that sensitive personal or CPNI data was stolen, but the exposed PII still poses significant phishing and identity-theft risk to affected individuals.
