Crooks crack customer info at tracking device vendor Tile, issue 'extortion' demands

Life360 (Tile) disclosed unauthorized access to its customer support platform exposing customer names, addresses, emails, phone numbers and device IDs and reported a criminal extortion attempt; the company says more sensitive data (cards, passwords, location) were not stored there. Separately, a database of 442,519 users containing names, emails and phone numbers was later posted online after attackers abused a login endpoint.
