Bot her emails: most modern phishing campaigns are AI-enabled

KnowBe4's Phishing Threat Trends report finds AI being used in the vast majority of recent phishing campaigns—about 86% in the past six months—enabling highly personalized email lures, automated reconnaissance, and multi-vector attacks (notably increases in malicious calendar invites and Microsoft Teams impersonations). The report warns AI-crafted phishing is more effective (Microsoft cites 4.5× effectiveness) and cites substantial cybercrime losses reported by the FBI, signaling increased scale and sophistication of phishing threats.
