Names, bank info, and more spills from top sperm bank

California Cryobank disclosed an IT security breach that occurred April 20–22 (detected April 21) in which unauthorized activity on certain computers may have led to the exposure or acquisition of sensitive customer data — including names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, financial account information, and health insurance details. The company isolated affected systems, notified the state attorney general, offered affected customers 12 months of identity protection, and said it has implemented additional security measures; the scale of impact and whether ransomware or extortion were involved remain unclear.
