Crooks stole personal info of 77k Fidelity Investments customers

Fidelity Investments notified 77,099 customers that their personal information was stolen in an August breach after a third party used two newly established customer accounts to access data between August 17–19; Fidelity detected the activity on August 19, ejected the intruders, hired an external security firm to investigate, and offered two years of credit monitoring while stating it is not aware of any account access or misuse.
