Amberstone Security left a public-facing database misconfigured, exposing about 1,274,086 documents (including 99,151 guard check-in snapshots, SIA ID card images, and photos and spreadsheets of suspected offenders dating back to 2017). The researcher who discovered the data alerted the company, which revoked access within a day and attributed the issue possibly to a third-party supplier; although no evidence of malicious access was reported, the exposed PII and security credentials create a significant risk of impersonation and physical-security breaches.
