Thieves steal 35.5M customers’ data from Vans sneakers maker

VF Corporation disclosed a December cyber incident affecting 35.5 million consumers that disrupted order fulfillment and inventory replenishment; parts of its IT environment were encrypted and the incident is suspected to be ransomware (AlphV/BlackCat claimed responsibility), though the company states consumer SSNs, payment card data, bank account information and passwords were not accessed and systems have been substantially restored.
