Even the Secret Service won't use company-issued phones

A DHS inspector general report found the U.S. Secret Service routinely using unsecured personal mobile phones during protective missions and employing government-issued devices that lacked adequate security controls, exposing mission details, geolocation data, and other sensitive information. The review identified vulnerable apps on GFE phones, delayed deployment of mobile threat defense, inconsistent data-wiping after international travel, and thousands of instances of personnel using personal devices for official communications; five corrective recommendations were issued and the agency concurred.
