Prudential Financial finds cybercrims lurking inside its IT systems

Prudential Financial disclosed a material cybersecurity incident after detecting unauthorized access to some of its IT systems beginning February 4, 2024; the intruder accessed administrative and user data and a small percentage of employee/contractor accounts. External cybersecurity experts were engaged, the company reported the matter to law enforcement and regulators, and the investigation so far has found no evidence that customer or client data was taken, though the scope is still being assessed.
