A UK councillor reported that Cornwall Council mistakenly provided her with unredacted complaint files that included the names, home addresses, email addresses and phone numbers of ten complainants who had lodged complaints about her comments. Four complainants had opted to redact their names but the copies sent to the councillor contained full personal details; the council had not explained how the breach occurred or whether it reported to the Information Commissioner’s Office, and the councillor said she subsequently shared the information with her legal representatives and informed the ICO on behalf of complainants.
