Homeland security hopes to scuttle maritime cyber-threats with port infosec testbed

The US Department of Homeland Security issued an RFI to collect baseline information on technologies used across U.S. maritime ports to design a Maritime Port Resiliency and Security Research Testbed that enables safe evaluation of cyber threat responses without affecting real operations. Citing recent cyber disruptions and the US Coast Guard’s expanded cybersecurity remit, DHS seeks input from port stakeholders and vendors by October 4 to inform research, development, testing, and evaluation needs.
