Law enforcement operations under Operation Cronos have led to multiple arrests and infrastructure seizures tied to the LockBit ransomware group across France, the UK, Spain, Ukraine and other jurisdictions; seized data and source code show that LockBit retained victims' exfiltrated data even after ransom payments, and its affiliate panel was designed so deletion requests required central approval and manual deletion by administrators, meaning affiliates and victims could not trust that data had been erased.
