Interpol moves against human traffickers who enslave people to scam you online

Interpol’s Operation Turquesa V coordinated police in 33 countries to disrupt human trafficking and smuggling networks that force victims into cyber fraud call centers, resulting in 257 arrests, 163 rescues, and the freezing of criminal proceeds. The operation identified hotspots in South America and the Middle East, used real-time biometric checks at transit points, and noted shifting migration patterns including increased flows from China. It follows Operation Storm Makers II, which similarly targeted trafficking linked to cyber scam operations.
