eBay agreed to a $3 million deferred prosecution settlement after admitting responsibility for actions by seven former employees and a contractor who in 2019 stalked and electronically harassed Ina and David Steiner of EcommerceBytes. The campaign included hostile social media messages, disturbing deliveries, GPS tracking, physical surveillance, posting the victims' address online, false statements to police, and deletion of digital evidence; several perpetrators pleaded guilty and received prison or confinement sentences.
