Welsh environment regulator's FoI blunder exposes diversity data of 2,000 staff

Natural Resources Wales (NRW) inadvertently published a spreadsheet in response to a Freedom of Information request that exposed equality and diversity data (including special-category information such as ethnicity, disability, religion, sexual orientation and caring responsibilities) for approximately 2,000 current and former staff who worked there between April 2013 and March 2018; the information was removed after being alerted by a member of the public, NRW reported the incident to the ICO, says it has no evidence of misuse, and is reviewing controls to prevent recurrence.
