Eurocops take down 'secure' criminal chat system known as Matrix

Updated reporting: French and Dutch police, working with Europol and other partners, compromised and dismantled a criminal invitation-only encrypted messaging service named "Matrix". The takedown affected roughly 8,000 users and yielded about 2.3 million messages in 33 languages discussing money laundering, illegal arms deals, and drug trafficking; servers across Europe were seized, several arrests made, and investigations continue.
