Cisco Talos' 2025 year-in-review warns that attackers are accelerating exploitation of newly disclosed vulnerabilities (React2Shell cited as a rapidly weaponized example), increasingly targeting identity control points and network management software, and using AI to craft more convincing phishing lures; Talos observed phishing as the initial vector in 40% of intrusions and recommends prioritizing patches for identity/access systems, strengthening MFA and anti-phishing measures, and reducing reaction windows by faster remediation.
