Brain Cipher, a newly emerged ransomware group, claims to have attacked RMN-GP and around 40 French national museums (Aug 3–4), asserting 300 GB of data will be leaked; RMN-GP and French authorities say there is no confirmed operational impact or evidence of exfiltration while investigations continue. Researchers note Brain Cipher appears to use a LockBit 3.0–derived builder with enhanced code obfuscation, persistence and evasion techniques, and uses the cyberfear.com domain for victim communications.
