Europol op shutters 12 scam call centers and cuffs 21 suspected fraudsters

Europol-led Operation Pandora disrupted a transnational phone‑scam campaign that ran call centers in Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Kosovo, and Lebanon; law enforcement shut 12 centers, arrested 21 suspects, seized data and roughly €1M in assets, intercepted over 1.3 million scam calls and are credited with preventing an estimated €10M+ in victim losses. The operation targeted thousands of victims daily with social‑engineering scams (fake police calls, investment fraud, romance cons, banking and prepaid card fraud), and investigators monitored calls to warn victims and gather evidence for coordinated raids.
