Ex-Disney employee gets 3 years in the clink for goofy attacks on mousey menus

Former Disney Menu Production Manager Michael Scheuer pleaded guilty to violating the CFAA and aggravated identity theft after using an administrative account, Mullvad VPN IPs, and SFTP access to tamper with a third-party Menu Creator system: replacing fonts (Wingdings), blanking images/backgrounds, altering allergen and pricing data, changing QR codes to political pages, inserting extremist imagery, conducting brute-force login attempts that locked 14 employee accounts, and maintaining doxxing files; the app was offline for 1–2 weeks, Disney restricted access and reset credentials, and Scheuer received 36 months in prison and a fine of about $688,000.
