Florida man gets 6 years behind bars for flogging fake Cisco kit to US military

A Miami resident, Onur Aksoy, ran an extensive counterfeit operation from 2014–2022 that sold millions of dollars worth of fake Cisco networking equipment (tens of thousands of devices) sourced and modified in China/Hong Kong, and trafficked into U.S. supply chains—including equipment purchased by the Department of Defense for flight simulators and used in some operations. He operated through multiple shell companies and online storefronts, evaded customs by splitting shipments, used forged paperwork, pleaded guilty to trafficking counterfeit goods, mail and wire fraud, was sentenced to six and a half years in prison, and ordered to pay significant restitution.
