Warwickshire school to reopen after cyberattack crippled IT

Higham Lane School in Nuneaton was hit by a "serious cyberattack" after the Christmas break that wiped core IT systems and deactivated safety-critical infrastructure (electronic gates, fire alarm, electronic registers), forcing a prolonged closure; staff, police, the Department for Education and external cybersecurity specialists rebuilt the environment over nearly two weeks, pupils have returned with very limited IT access, and the school has not disclosed what data was taken or who was responsible.
