Helpdesk scammers are making house calls to make their lies feel more real

Dutch police raided an Amsterdam home and arrested six suspects believed to be operating a helpdesk/vishing fraud call center that targeted bank customers—often elderly—using phone-based social engineering and occasional in-person visits to obtain account access and steal funds; investigators seized devices and bank cards and warned such confidence scams have affected tens of thousands of victims.
