AT&T not sure if new customer data dump is déjà vu

AT&T is investigating claims that tens of millions of customer records (about 86–88 million entries, including ~44 million plaintext SSNs and other PII) were posted for sale on a dark web forum; the seller and AT&T indicate the dataset is likely a repackaged release of previously disclosed breach data (linked to earlier Snowflake and prior dumps). Affected customers were reportedly notified previously, but the large volume of sensitive PII poses substantial identity-fraud risk.
