PwC’s 2024 cybersecurity report finds cloud attacks are both the most concerning and least-prepared-for risks among executives, with hack-and-leak operations, third-party breaches, connected product attacks, and ransomware close behind, though CISOs rate ransomware higher than other leaders. Generative AI is viewed as the largest contributor to the expanding attack surface even as organizations deploy it for detection and intelligence. New and existing regulations (DORA, CIRCIA, Cyber Resilience Act, NIS2, GDPR) are prompting improved security practices and increased investment across enterprises.
