UK plans to revamp national cyber defense tools are already in motion

The UK’s NCSC is planning ACD 2.0, a refresh of its Active Cyber Defence services, with two guiding principles: only deliver capabilities where there’s a genuine market gap and transition them to government or industry partners within three years. Early experiments include national-scale attack surface management, while existing offerings like Early Warning, PDNS, Takedown, Mail Check, and Share and Defend continue to target high-volume commodity attacks; recent metrics show extensive alerting coverage and ongoing public-sector focus, alongside an open call for partners across government, industry, and academia.
