Euro cops disrupt malware droppers, seize thousands of domains

Europol's Operation Endgame initiated a large multinational takedown targeting malware droppers used to deploy other malware and ransomware, resulting in four arrests, searches of 16 locations, seizure of over 100 servers, and the takedown of more than 2,000 malicious domains with at least €69M in cryptocurrency linked to suspects; the report also notes a separate U.S. DOJ disruption of the 911 S5 botnet that impacted millions of Windows machines and recovered roughly $60M.
