Change Healthcare has begun restoring electronic prescribing (Rx Connect, Rx Edit, Rx Assist) and related claim submission/payment services after an ALPHV/BlackCat ransomware attack in late February that disrupted thousands of hospitals, pharmacies, and providers; the gang claims to have stolen ~6TB of data and the incident prompted HHS to relax Medicare rules to mitigate cash-flow problems. UnitedHealth is phasing systems back online, introduced an interim iEDI claim submission workaround, and reporting also highlights ALPHV's possible exit-scam behavior and associated Bitcoin transfers.
