Dutch cops reveal takedown of 'world's largest dark web market'

Dutch-led investigators, working with partners in Ireland, the UK and the USA, have arrested two alleged administrators of the Bohemia and Cannabia dark web marketplaces following a 2022 probe. The marketplaces reportedly handled ~67,000 transactions per month, reached €12 million turnover in September 2023, and the operators allegedly executed an exit scam taking approximately €5 million before the sites were shuttered; law enforcement characterized the action as damaging to the perceived anonymity and reliability of such markets.
