Microsoft adds export option to Windows Recall in Europe

Microsoft is rolling out a Recall Export feature for Windows 11 users in the EEA, enabling encrypted desktop activity snapshots to be shared with third-party apps and websites via a one-time export code (lost codes require a reset that deletes prior snapshots), with exports authorized by Windows Hello and configurable for the last 7 or 30 days or ongoing. The preview is in the Beta channel with caveats for managed PCs, default snapshot retention on new Copilot+ PCs shifts to 90 days, and Microsoft confirmed the changes are driven by legal compliance; a minor update also adds a larger clock with seconds.
