Researchers move in the right direction, develop powerful GPS interference alarm

Oak Ridge National Laboratory researchers developed a portable GPS-interference detector that uses a software-defined radio, an embedded GPU, and a novel RF analysis method to identify spoofing and jamming — including spoofing when fake and real signals are of equal strength — with potential deployment for protecting commercial trucks and cargo from GPS-based theft and other misdirection attacks.
