Microsoft's April update introduced a Remote Desktop UI bug that can cause the one-time security warning for .rdp files to display incorrectly on systems using multiple monitors with different display scaling, potentially undermining phishing protections; Microsoft advises matching scaling across monitors and will fix the issue in a future update. Separately, Microsoft released an out-of-band .NET update addressing CVE-2026-40372, an elevation-of-privilege vulnerability (forged authentication cookies) affecting .NET 10.0.0–10.0.6 that could impact Windows versions that received the update.
