Zephyr Energy loses £700K in cyber hit that rerouted contractor payment

Zephyr Energy disclosed that an attacker intercepted and redirected a single contractor payment of approximately £700,000 to an external account. The firm says the compromise affected an American subsidiary, the incident has been contained, external consultants and banks are engaged and law enforcement notified, and operations remain unaffected while additional payment-security measures are being implemented.
